Sarah and I had been going back and forth on the status of our computers. She’s been spending more time writing in the past few months, and we’ve started to have issues with the kids playing downstairs and the computers in the office upstairs.

For a while, Sarah had been wondering about a computer downstairs, so I started checking Dell and SlickDeals for deals on PCs. As many of you know, my job has me travelling round the world quite a bit, so I’ve also been looking to get a laptop to keep in touch while I’m gone. So, tonight I decided to combine those two “needs” into one computer purchase.

I get a discount through Lockheed Martin at HP/Compaq, so after looking at the different reviews, I decided to purchase a Compaq Presario R3000Z notebook computer. The reviews were good, so I took the plunge and bought one.

Sadly, it won’t be here in time for my trip, but I think it will make our lives a lot easier. Until we start fighting over it, of course.
